Ushers

The ushers take over from the greeters. Ushers provide programs or service leaflets to the parishioners as they enter the church. They assist the parishioners in seating and ensure safety of the parishioners.

One of the ushers will ring the 1908 church bell or ask one of the children to help ring the bell prior to the 10 AM service. The bell is rung 10 times. The ushers take up the collection, bring the wine and bread to the altar, bring the gifts/food basket to the altar for blessings and direct the communion procession. After parishioners leave, the usher straightens up the pews, places leaflets in recycle or back for reuse, places books back into the proper location, etc.
