Ten Garden Rules and Guidelines

Garden Plots must be paid for using the REALM portal prior to allowing access to the garden.  Information will be provided when you contact the church (see button below).

 1.  Prepare your entire plot for gardening and begin planting by May 1.

2.  Your plot is to be actively gardened and maintained (planted, weeded, harvested, kept tidy) during the main growing season (June-August).

3.  Year-round gardening (including early spring and fall planting) is encouraged.

4.  Take plant debris to the designated compost site outside the garden fence. Do not allow trash--including plant ties-- to mix with the debris that is to be composted.

5.  Any gardener may restrain (or prune if necessary) plants that block the main walkways or overflow into their own plots.

6.  Complete clean-up of summer crops by November 15.

7.  If you must use a pesticide: Do not use a Weapon of Mass Destruction if a Taser would work as well. Research the pest/disease and ask other gardeners if you have any doubts about the most appropriate approach.

8.  For everyone’s safety, NO commercial, chemical or organic pesticides and NO fertilizers may be stored anywhere in the garden plot at any time.

 9.  Gardeners unable to fulfill their water barrel duties are responsible for arranging coverage.

10.Theft may be a problem during the main growing season. If you suspect a problem, please lock the gate and inform a garden coordinator--it will protect others.
